Release Info:
Wow, so this is a COOL release. If you are into Rhythm games, this is the
shit, well this and Hatsune Miko Diva's are in a neck to neck competition
to come out w/ the best Rhythm game. Taiko no Tatsujin (Drum Master) was
groundbreaking in the genre getting really cool DLC add-ons of known JPOP
and KPOP / EM artist to have as add-ons. Even Hatsune Miko makes a guest
appearance! We actually had this for a little bit, but then there was
always some kind of cool DLC coming up that we wanted to include with the
release. We believe we did a good job and included plenty of additional
DLC Songs.. You have over 10 songs to choose from instead of 3-4 like
most games. We hope you enjoy as much as we did. Make sure to read the
install instructions below if you are not sure of how to install and
configure games w/ DLC add-ons.
Included in this release is the game + 26 Extra Songs, 4 Costumes and 2
extra Instruments, for your enjoyment!
Taiko no Tatsujin, literally translating to English as Drum Master, is
a series of rhythm games created by Namco. In the games, players simulate
playing a Taiko drum in time with music. The series has released games
for the arcade and for platforms including PlayStation 2, PlayStation
Portable, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Wii U, iOS,
Advanced Pico Beena, and mobile phones.
While the series is mainly designed for use within Japan, there are also
specially localized releases for other regions, including English-,
Chinese- and Korean-language versions.

Reviews:
www.play-asia.com - 5.0/5.0 - "Fantastic rhythm game"
Summary..........: The music in the game is a lot of fun to play with and
having four difficulties for each song make it so that things don't get
stale fast at all (Some even have an unlockable extra difficulty). Being
able to customize how your mascot looks is also a lot of fun and the
donder quest story mode has an interesting RPG spin on it. My only gripe
with it is that you require a Japanese PSN account to purchase any of the
new song DLC's and I can't seem to find a way around that unfortunately.
It's a minor issue since there are over 80 songs in the base game and a
few unlockable ones too, but I figured it was at least worth mentioning.
www.n4g.com - 8.0/10.0
Summary.........: If you want an example of a rhythm game that could
never really work in the west, it's surely Taiko no Tatsujin V Version.
With huge tracklist that could only ever be relevant to the Japanese,
Taiko is also ridiculously colourful and has an energy to it that can
only be described as utterly nuts, and is far beyond what most people
would assume the western market would have patience for. This is likely
why Namco Bandai has stopped localising them, frankly.
TEAM TRSI.....: 9.5/10
GRAPHiCS......: 9.0/10
GAMEPLAY......: 8.5/10
SOUND.........: 10/10
LASTiNG.APPEAL: 10/10
REViEW........: I think it is a bit sad that the other review stated that
this could never work in the 'western' world. Basically if you are into
catchy, cute Japaneese graphics, check, if you like good EM, JPOP, KPOP
music, check, Controls that are more than the basic arrows and right
buttons, check, tons of super cool DLC's to download keeping the game up
to date, CHECK. They really out did theirselves when they made this game
it would be super cool to have one of these arcade machines... We will
have to settle on one of the controller 'drums' that you can get for ps3
and WII-U. Even Hatsune Miku makes a guest appearence in the game! The
only other rhythm game that does come close to the quality and nitch of
this game is Hatsune Miku Diva's and even it has a bit to go to match up
to this legendary, great game.
